Jubilation of Fun &
Sane Flying The Powered Para-Gliders gathered at Boyer Flight Park for some "fun and sane flying" and were rewarded by some pretty good weather for October. Here are some photos, click on the small photo to see the large one. Chute coming up! The air was smooth above 1000', that's waaaaay up there! Chute "Kiting" A "Backpack" Power Unit It was real fun having the PPG guys at Boyer Flight Park!
Boyer Boys finish 3rd and 4th in 9th US Microlight Nationals! Held concurrently with ASC KIMO
2006, the 9th US National Championships were held over Labor Day weekend.
Boyer Flight Park was represented by two pilots this year, The hit of the show though was
Boyer Friend Igor Kolpakchi and his new Aeroprackt 20 It soon became apparent that
Boyer Friend Steve Bensinger was the one to beat and Boyer Friend Dave Hempy
tried his best. That left Phillip, Dave, and Boyer Friend Jon Jacobs to
fight it out for the last podium spot. The bronze went back and forth and
with a win in the next to last task Dave overtook Phillip. It was all to
be decided in the precision engine-off landing task. The pictures tell the
story: The task and the bronze went to Phillip Halsmer! Here's our new National Champion,
Steve Bensinger As noted, the spectacular photos are by Randy Vallance and can be viewed on his site: asc_nationals_2006 Everyone had a great time and the Boyer tradition in ultralight competition continues......
